Day 1 - Abou Simbel

On this excursion, you will visit the sublime temples of Abu Simbel, with its two temples. Built by the pharaoh Ramses II.

After a 3 hour drive, you will arrive at Abu Simbel, a famous archaeological site consisting of two temples carved into the rock, one dedicated to Ramses II and the other to Nefertiti, his first wife and his favorite. The construction required more than 20 years of work, during the reign of Ramses II. The state of conservation of the temples is excellent as they remained buried in the sand until the 19th century.

The guided tour will last around 2 hours, enough time to discover every nook and cranny of the temples, their history and anecdotes about them, like why they are still in perfect condition, how they were moved and what the temple did. Egypt in exchange for international aid.

After enjoying, you will be back in Aswan, where you will arrive a little after midday.
